Dear Exhibitors,
Once again, I am thrilled to be able to judge so many beautiful models … what wonderful representations of our breed! There were so many I would love to take home and the competition was very stiff. A huge and heartfelt Thank You!!! to those of you who organized your photos in a way that helped facilitate things for me … taking a few minutes to sort your photos by classlist numbers before popping them in the mail is a kindness that any judge will always appreciate. Conversely, there were entrants who did not sort their photos in this manner … and there were a few of you who had me so very confused with trying to match horses to sires and dams in the Bloodstock classes that I was ready to pull my hair out. Please, please, PLEASE refer to the EXCELLENT article by member Vikki Johnson that was recently sent out to everyone, and follow her example about how to organize your photos for these classes. It took me hours, literally, to get through these five classes due to extremely confusing photo-backs, missing pictures, and the like, and to say I was a little aggravated by the end of these classes is an understatement. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but as a judge, it’s frustrating to see this same problem come up, time after time, show after show, with little or no effort on the exhibitor’s part to fix it. Please read Vikki’s article. (And yes, I’m begging.)
A few other notes: Amankhar resins should go in the OF Factory China/Resin classes, not the OF Plastic classes. Also, there were three OF chestnuts in the OF Bay class… There was a CM bay in the OF bay class… There was a foal in the stallion class... There were full-body photos in the headstudy class… There was a horse with a halter and lead in the liberty class… And so on. These horses were excused and thus missed out on placings and points they would otherwise have received. Please make sure that your photo backs reflect the new classlist, and double check them for accuracy, as almost everyone who entered was guilty, here.
